5779 New Year
5779 NEW YEAR, or is it 6024?
When do you believe the New Year starts? The rabbinical calendar (or should I say secular) starts in the Fall at Tishri 1. Yet, the Biblical calendar says Abiyb (now called Nissan) is the first of the months of the year.
Ask which is the true New Year Day? And when do we start the New Year? Are we in 5779? Did we go wrong on the years too? By my calculations we should be in the year 6023. Research it all out and ask yourself what the true NEW YEAR is.
Spring is the time of rebirth. It makes sense that YaHVaH would choose the Springtime as the beginning of the Year. So why did the Rabbis change it to the fall? Abiyb, the Biblical New Year is in the Spring. Fri, 05 April 2019 at sundown (1st of Nisan, 5779). The first six months of the Jewish calendar are Nissan, Iyar, Sivan, Tammuz, Av and Elul. The final six months of the Jewish calendar are Tishri, Cheshvan, Kislev, Tevet, Shevat and Adar. On leap years, a thirteenth month is added to the end of the Jewish year. If this true, then why do we see the calendar listed as below:

Notice how the Calendar for 5779 is started on 1st of Tishrei? But why, if this is the 7th month? So, should the New Year 5779 begin on Tishrei or Abiyb? And, should we be in 5780 instead of 5779?
