Elul

from the President

Elul

Elul אֱלוּל is the sixth Biblical calendar month and the 12th month on the Hebrew calendar. It’s name actually means “nothing.”

Elul אֱלוּל , a summer month, is a time of repentance and forgiveness. It is this month that the angel Gabriel (Gab’riy’el, גבריאל) came to Mary and announced she would conceive and bare a son, who would be called the son of God, Luke 1:26. We know this to be our Messiah, Yeshua. It is fitting that this was announced in this month of repentance and forgiveness because that is the reason for Yeshua coming to us to Forgive All of us if we will only believe and repent.

Millet or Sorghum cereal crop in a field.

Millet is widely cultivated in warm regions and is a major source of grain and of feed for livestock. Millet is harvested in Elul as is grapes, figs, and pomegranates.
