Yeshua Passover (Pesach) Fulfillment

Yeshua Passover (Pesach) Fulfillment

Ezekiel 37:1-14

Traditionally, this block of Scripture is read during a Passover/Pesach intermediate day that falls on a Shabbat. The reading speaks of YaHVaH raising up a field of bones in the presence of Ezekiel to reveal His power of raising the dead. Why? So that Ezekiel could issue a prophecy to Israel, see verses 12 to 14. The prophecy reads, 12b Thus saith my Lord YaHVaH; Behold, I am opening your graves and raising you up from your graves, My people, and I will bring you to the soil of Israel.  13 Then you will know that I am YaHVaH, when I open your graves and when I raise you up from your graves, My people, 14 and when I put My spirit into you, and you come to life, and I set you on your soil. Then you will know that I YaHVaH have spoken and I have fulfilled — the Word of YaHVaH.”

This is a Messianic prophecy that was fulfilled by Yeshua. Matthew 27:50-53 reads, “50 And Yeshua, again crying out with a loud voice, released the Spirit. 51 And behold, the temple veil was rent in two from top to bottom; and the earth was shaken, and the rocks were rent; 52 And the tombs were opened and many bodies of the holy ones who had fallen asleep arose, 53 and coming forth out of the tombs after His arising, [they] entered into the holy city, and plainly appeared to many.”

This prophecy shows two things: 1) YaHVaH keeps His Word, and 2) Yeshua and YaHVaH are ONE.

As Messianic believers, we also know the dead in Yeshua will again rise when He returns to be caught up with Him. Before Yeshua came, there is only prophecy of the dead being raised. While here on earth, He raised Lazarus and Jairus’ daughter; then the holy ones in the graves upon His death; and finally Himself after 3 days. During the ministry of His apostles, many more were raised from the dead. This is yet another proof that Yeshua is the Messiah spoken of throughout the Old Testament and revealed to ALL in the New Testament.
