Update of Tikkun

Shalom,

The week leading up to Shavuot (Pentecost) was unique for our Tikkun family in Israel. Several months ago our leadership team felt the urge to invite apostolic fathers with a heart for Israel from around the world to come spend three days with us in prayer and dialogue. We called it the “Alignment Roundtable.” The amazing thing was that we were not even thinking of the 70th anniversary for Israel’s rebirth—or the United States Embassy move—both of which took place the day before our gathering.
We planned for a small gathering. With only a few months notice, most of these very busy people would not be able to make it—or so we thought. To our surprise, 80% came! And the ones who didn’t, said, “Count me in for next year.” Next year? We didn’t even plan a next year!

Dan, Eitan and Asher address some of the delegates at dinner the night before the roundtable began.
THEY CAME FROM MANY NATIONS
We had delegates from China, South Korea, Japan, the US, South America, Poland, South Africa and other nations. Some of them, you would likely know their names; others, no less significant, oversee large networks without much fanfare.
We had a loose agenda that gave much time to prayer. Some of the themes that came forth were:
  • Deeper Arab Christian/Messianic Jewish love.
  • Contending for Unity in the Body of Messiah in Israel and around the world.
  • The reality of end time prophecy—as we literally looked at the Mount of Olives and the Temple Mount where Yeshua will return and take up His throne…
  • A deep desire from these leaders to be connected to brothers in Israel (more on that later).
Several Tikkun leaders gave short messages that led to powerful discussion. The goal was to keep the teaching to a minimum, and use it only to set the tone. We gave lots of space for the prophetic so the Lord could speak. God spoke prophetically through key leaders about the harvest in the coming years.
CONTINUED CONNECTION
What was clear, is that there is a real hunger amongst leaders around the world to connect (or align) with similar like-minded movements in Israel. There is a synergy (the power released when apostolic teams work together is greater than what we can do alone) that is taking place. These fathers (and mothers!) want to align themselves with apostolic and prophetic ministries in Israel. This is not about “submission”, but rather a sense of embracing God’s order of Israel as the elder brother among the families of the nations.
And for those of us in Israel, we see our role, not to govern, but to serve, support and strengthen our brothers and sisters from around the world—to release blessing from Israel. And to learn from them—as many of them have so much to impart to us. It is about mutual love, support, respect and inter-dependence.
We have not scheduled the next Alignment Roundtable, but there does seem to be a deep hunger for long term alignment.

One of many powerful prayer times.
THANK YOU!
Beloved, we reached out to you to pray for this gathering and we received so many responses that you did. Our leadership team cannot thank you enough. You are a part of this end-time alignment between the worldwide Ecclesia and the Messianic Body in Israel. We love you and so greatly appreciate you.
In Yeshua,
Asher Intrater and the Tikkun Global leadership team

New Initiative Ministry

Tikkun - Global Messianic FamilySpreading The Word - Online

We are excited to announce a new ministry that complements the vision of the Tikkun global messianic family.

Spreading the Word – Online” will be reaching out to the nations to encourage reading and study of the Bible. Using text, audio and video to offer maximum accessibility and ease of use, we will be offering a number of innovative approaches to daily, weekly and guided reading of the Bible to help and encourage churches, congregations, leaders and individuals to “get into the Bible”.

A key verse that constantly inspires us is the word of the prophets Micah and Isaiah: Kiy mitzion teytzey Torah, u’d’var Adonai mi Yerushalayim – for the Torah shall go forth from Zion, and the word of the L-rd from Jerusalem (Micah 4:2, Isaiah 2:3). We are compelled to share that word in a deliberate, intentional and dynamic way with all of G-d’s people in an accessible and clear approach that builds up the body of Messiah, preparing the bride for Yeshua’s return. We are called to share the riches that we have been given (Romans 9:4-5) with those in and from the nations.

The new initiative, “Spreading the Word – Online” is being led by Jonathan Allen, who has been part of the Tikkun family for nearly twenty years. Many of you will have had contact with or exchanged e-mail with him as he has faithfully served as the Tikkun webmaster since 2003. Jonathan led a Tikkun congregation in England for a number of years, and has recently earned his doctorate – a PhD in theology – from Trinity College, Bristol University. He has also been writing a commentary on the Torah portion each week for over fourteen years.

Here are some reflections by Tikkun leaders:

Dr Daniel JusterThere are several who write from the Torah and the Prophets with New Covenant application. My commentator is Jonathan Allen. He writes with a wealth of insight, wisdom, and application. This only comes from years of study, scholarship and spiritual commitment to Yeshua. In my view, his work in this area is the best I know. (Daniel Juster, Th.D., Restoration from Zion of Tikkun International)

Eitan ShishkoffJonathan Allen’s work is intellectually, academically and spiritually substantive without being stilted, overly technical or simply boring … giving colour and texture with well-chosen references to rabbinic and biblical writings. His aim is to bring us repeatedly to the point of evaluation and decision in the real conduct of our lives. (Eitan Shishkoff, Pastor Emeritus, Tents of Mercy Congregation)

Please watch this short video to hear from Jonathan personally and see more of this vision to share the word from Jerusalem with the nations.
