This update from Tikkun came in on July 9, 2019, so the Last week is actually 2 weeks ago from today, July 20, 2019:
Last week Israel opened up the pilgrimage path in Jerusalem. This connects the City of David to the Temple Mount area. This is the path that Jewish pilgrims would have taken to bring their sacrifices to the Lord. This is no small matter, because this ancient path goes right through a Palestinian neighborhood. But the archaeology is trustworthy. On your next trip to Israel, you will be able to take this ancient path.
Israel opens Pilgrimage Road, connecting City of David to Temple By Ron Cantor
A new archaeological site was unveiled in Jerusalem on Sunday at the City of David: an ancient passageway dubbed “Pilgrims’ Road” because archeologists believe that millions of Jews ascended this path three times a year during the pilgrimage feasts to bring sacrifices to the temple. A strong testament to the ancient Jewish connection to the land of Israel and city of Jerusalem, the 350-meter section of road begins at the pool of Shiloah and extends to the Western Wall. It had been under excavation for six years.
Who am I? Most people ask this question at one time or another. We hide behind a fence that builds a ghetto around us. Moroccan, Brazilian, Ethiopian, American, and so on. These associations come from the areas where we grew up and the culture within them. Even in the time of Yeshua there were different assumptions made according to people’s backgrounds.
The fact that the second coming of Yeshua is connected with a battle over Jerusalem raises several theological problems. Interestingly, today’s dramatic developments relating to terrorism, Islam, and the United Nations are shedding light on how this prophecy could come to pass.
Let’s face it. We all want to see God move in miraculous ways. After all, wasn’t that Yeshua’s calling card? Wasn’t that the apostles’ validation of the gospel message? And what about the prophets of Israel? Didn’t they portend the outpouring of the Spirit with signs and wonders in the last days, leading up to the long-awaited return of our Messiah King?
We are dealing with a significant problem in theology. Much of the theology is being taught to believers by preaching media stars and church leaders whom I would call low information preachers. They may have charisma, and they can hold a crowd well, but sometimes they say outlandish and even heretical things.
We are engaged in “spiritual warfare”, fighting against forces of evil, from the “world, the flesh and the devil.” The battlefield of that warfare is often in our own mind and feelings. The source of good and evil is in the spirit. Thoughts and emotions are in the soul realm. However, there is a third level, and that is the brain.
It is pretty amazing that Abram was so weak in faith, that he was willing to allow his wife to be in Pharaoh’s harem. In fact, he got rich from it. Yet God’s hand was on Abram. Even in Abram’s weakness, the Lord protected them both.
During his youth Peres was shaped by the rugged demands of kibbutz agriculture and was one of the founders of Kibbutz Alumot, overlooking the Sea of Galilee. During his more than seventy years of public service, this man’s accomplishments encompassed the fields of defense, technology, economy and national politics.
HUGE SALE – 70% off!! This was the bait that enticed two tired parents from their home late at night. We had gone out after putting the kids to bed to try to score at a local clothing store. Despite the promise of good deals, it turned out to be one of those frustrating shopping trips. We did, however, find that God had His own plan for our evening out…
“שליח” has several meanings in modern Hebrew: apostle, public servant, anyone with a sense of divine mission or purpose, and even … a delivery man. Let’s take the whole issue down a few levels of humility. At the end of the day, even a delivery man can be an “apostle”, and a true apostle is nothing more than God’s errand boy.
So it is with each of us who lead: if we are listening, the Holy Spirit is constantly asking us the same question: “are you doing this because you have to or because you love God?”
I can almost hear God saying, “If you love me and draw near to Me, then you can lead with my heart, my love, my wisdom … and if not … well, good luck!”
When Yeshua returns, the kingdoms of this world become the kingdom of God (Revelation 11:15). There is not total dominion before that time. Goodness will grow inside the people of God until it finally fills the earth. But that fullness does not come until Yeshua’s return.
