ELUL

Elul אֱלוּל , a summer month, is a time of repentance and forgiveness. It is this month that the angel Gabriel (Gab’riy’el, גבריאל) came to Mary and announced she would conceive and bare a son, who would be called the son of God, Luke 1:26. We know this to be our Messiah, Yeshua. It is fitting that this was announced in this month of repentance and forgiveness because that is the reason for Yeshua coming to us to Forgive All of us if we will only believe and repent.

Millet is widely cultivated in warm regions and is a major source of grain and of feed for livestock. Millet is harvested in Elul as is grapes, figs, and pomegranates. In the Bible, images of pomegranates are to surround the hem of the High priest.

Thus Said YaHVaH

22Thus said YaHVaH: Let not the wise man glorify himself with his wisdom, and let not the strong man glorify himself with his strength, let not the rich man glorify himself with his wealth. 23For only with this may one glorify himself – contemplating and knowing Me, for I am YaHVaH Who does kindness, justice and righteousness in the land, for in these is My desire — the word of YaHVaH.

Jeremiah 9:22-23, Tanach

23Thus saith YAHVAH, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches; 24But in this let the glorying one glory, in having intelligence, and in knowing Me, that I am YAHVAH, executing lovingkindness, justice, and righteousness in the earth, that in these things I delight, declareth YAHVAH.

Jeremiah 23-24, ROSNB

Listen and OBEY the word of YaHVaH bringing glory to His name! You will be amazed at the blessings He will bestow upon you.

Believe in Yourself

Sometimes you look at yourself in the mirror and you feel unqualified. You know yourself, your failures and your faults, and you don’t feel like you could be a model for others.

You say, “I should teach others? I should provide guidance?!”

So we tell you, “Yes. Because that is your place upon this planet: We live in a time when all those who know Alef must teach Alef and those who know what comes after Alef must teach that too.”

“And G‑d Above, who formed you and put you in the here and now, He knows who you are and how you are and what you are capable of accomplishing. If He believes in you, you must as well.”

Teach others and become
